JACK HAS GONE TO THE RAINBOW BRIDGE

Sad time for me my jack has gone

22nd April R.I.P. my wonderful friend.

Jack was a little of colour on the 21st but still had his evening meal and a game of frisbee with our other dog.  On the 22nd a Tuesday we decided to take him to the vet with what we thought was a tummy bug.
He was to do his aged care visit the following day, so just to be on the safe side we though a vet check was in order.

Well went from bad to worse very quickly.  The vet began to take some blood out of Jacks leg, it was almost black.  Sent it for analysis and the results were not good.

He wanted a second opinion so off we went to a specialist center.

Xray's and scans and deliberations by the vet.  Then the worst news we could possibly get.

Jacks immune system had gone berserk, his white blood cells were killing of his red blood cells.  There was no coming back.

So I gave the OK to put Jack to sleep, one of the hardest things I have ever done in my life.

So I cuddled him and told him I was so, so sorry.  And my wonderful friend was no more.  It was so quick and quiet not a murmur from him. He went into a deep sleep and the next needle stopped his heart, and mine.  Jack was only 7.

We went home in total disbelief, two weeks later it is still disbelief.  Never to get a cuddle from my best friend ever again, never a lick, never  his head resting on my lap looking at me.

Jack has left a huge hole, his bed is still next to my chair.

It is so quiet, I can't finish this tonight.  Maybe never finish.

ANIMALS are our life

Both Robyn and I love our animals, Robyn is more of a cat person me, dogs.

Tigger our little fluffy grey cat, we rescued. We had a phone call from another carer asking us to to pick up a kitten before they threw it on the road.

So we went and picked her up, she sat in the palm of my hand. She is 12yrs now, a very shy cat but the dogs don't worry here, she walks up and gives them a head butt, just like Robyn does to me.

I sometimes wonder where our time goes?
